As like all my blog posts I like to keep them short and sweet, I have shot many weddings over the years. At the core the elements are the same but on a personal level they are all different. The first element that I would recommend for your day is delegate. On the day there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes, if you do not have a wedding planner I would strongly recommend assigning tasks to your best friends. They are going to want to make sure you have the best day possible so they will be more than happy to help. My second top tip is to have someone impartial check all the speeches before the day. So many times I have seen the person who goes second or third say “I was going to mention x but x already said it”. It really disrupts the flow but it also makes the speaker feel awkward and unprepared. Lastly, don’t waste money on wedding favours, I see the wedding venue binning most of them during the room turn around. I think a table can still look really good with flowers recycled from the ceremony and a really nice menu design.
